This little box is a perfect home for our endangered Dormouse. It provides a perfect habitat that ensures they can nest and hibernate during the winter seasons. The box is made from 18 mm European redwood and is very robust. The lid is removeable to allow access in the summer to clean out the hibernation nest. Access for the mouse is from the rear via a chamfered cut 25mm hole. Please read the Installation Instructions before purchase.
All the timber I use is 19mm thick European redwood Pine and is sourced from a U.K company with a superb sustainability policy. The timber is left natural rough sawn to enable the fledglings to climb out when they are ready to leave the box. The boxes are made from a very durable and robust thickness of timber that is chunky and strong. It will be resilient to all weathers and has proved to be a lovely home for many breeding birds and even a resting space overnight for individual birds.
