Spring is the perfect time to encourage wildlife to your garden. Bats and Hedgehogs are waking up from hibernation, you may see the first butterflies and of course all our birds are busy nesting. But it's not too late to get those nest boxes in place. Sparrows, Robins and Blackbirds can nest any time from now into August, and may have several broods. Of course, even if they don't nest in the box this year, having boxes in place provides shelter throughout all the seasons.

Owl boxes installed now might not get used this Spring, but it will give potential visitors the chance to find and become accustomed to the box before they begin mating in winter. It is thought that about half the UK population of Barn Owls now nest in boxes.
