This seasons heatwave is a timely reminder that the position of your bird box really matters! If you are struggling to attract birds to your garden bird box it might simply be in the wrong place. Well positioned boxes can serve as shelters from both heat and cold at any time of year, even when birds are not nesting. So there is never a bad time to add some boxes to your outdoor space.

Owl boxes installed now might not get used until Spring, but it will give potential visitors the chance to find and become accustomed to the box before they begin mating in winter. It is thought that about half the UK population of Barn Owls now nest in boxes.
