These bird boxes are perfect for Common Starlings. Designed specifically for Starlings and other larger cavity-nesting birds.

This Starling Bird box is a good-sized box made from 19mm European Redwood Pine which is sustainably sourced with a 45mm hole allowing for Starlings to set up home. Other birds can use this box too, so it will be helpful to all rural, town and city birds looking for a place to nest or roost overnight. The box comes with fixing screws for fences or walls, however wire for tree fixing and hole protection plates to protect from squirrel or woodpeckers can be purchased in addition. The painted roof is made from exterior plywood and is opened by two swivel clips, so access is very easy for humans, although difficult for squirrels to gain access! The base has drain holes to ensure the box remains clean and dry for the nesting birds. Please see the specification sheet for dimensions.

The timber is left natural rough sawn to enable the fledglings to climb out when they are ready to leave the box.
